SurfAid International is a non-profit humanitarian aid organization whose mission is to improve the health and well being of the people living on the islands off western Sumatra. SurfAid establishes community-based health and disease prevention programs in isolated regions. In response to the Dec 26, 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami disaster and subsequent earthquakes SurfAid operated several emergency medical teams in northern and western Sumatra.
